It was fun and exciting. We all felt like we made a real contribution. Introductions Listening to instructions Showing us what to do Being shown the seedling and how far to put it in the ground Showing us how to dig a hole, to measure so that it is planted securely Now it's our turn. The ground was hard and full of rocks. There were several volunteers. There were several volunteers. Working with an expert in planting. The plastic covers need to be secure. We found a turtle while working. We found a turtle while working. It was really cool to actually see a turtle in the wild. The turtle was released into the woods. The students waited to see if it would move. Girls can use a pick-axe too. The ground was hard and full of rocks, but this was the tool to use for the job. We had a wonderful afternoon of working and making a difference.
