The Second Grade Team recruited Chief Meteorologist Doug Kammerer, of NBC4 Washington News to come to Bonnie Brae and speak to our second grade students. 

Our Second Graders are currently exploring Weather through Project Based Learning (PBL). Part of that learning consists of generating student ideas for need-to-knows to become experts on the topic. To explore those need-to-knows, they were supported by learning from a true local expert- Mr. Kammerer! Students were excited to hear about his stories and were engaged to learn about weather systems both locally, and in the United States. Mr. Kammerer displayed a 24-hour Satellite Image to receive a glimpse of what it's like to analyze like a Meteorologist.
